Why 1-on-1 works

Team practice teaches teamwork, game shape and the rhythm of competitive play. What it can't give is time: one coach is shared by a whole squad, so individual repetition is limited. In a private session your coach can find exactly what's holding your player back, whether that's a weak left foot, a slow first touch or hesitation in 1v1s, and drill it until it improves.

Private sessions also rebuild confidence away from the pressure of game day, and give older players preparing for tryouts or college recruiting the finishing, 1v1 and position-specific work that rarely fits into team practice.

Tips for soccer parents

  1. Let them love it first. Skill follows enthusiasm.
  2. Don't coach from the sideline. Cheer effort, not outcomes.
  3. Watch pro matches together. It builds soccer IQ.
  4. Encourage practice between sessions. 15 minutes of juggling adds up.
  5. Don't overload the calendar. Burnout is real.
  6. Talk about effort, not goals. Effort is what they control.
  7. Keep the car ride calm after tough games.
  8. Trust the long arc. Development takes years.

Questions from New Britain families

Anything else, call 888-217-7826 and a person answers.

  • Coaches are matched by ZIP code. When you book, your request goes to coaches whose travel area covers your address. If a coach accepts, we email you right away and share your contact details with them, and they call or text you to agree your first session. Your player's age, skill level, position and goals go to the coach so they can plan the first session. If it isn't the right fit, tell us and we'll look for another coach at no extra charge.

  • Group lessons are charged per lesson, not per player. We add $5 per lesson for a second player and $10 per lesson for three players. Beyond three players, group rates kick in. Contact us for a quote.

  • Yes. Every booking includes a $20 booking fee. It is one fee per booking, not per player, and it applies again if you book another package later. There's no monthly subscription, no recurring billing, and no hidden charges.

  • Yes. Lesson packages of 6 lessons or more qualify for our 3-payment plan. You choose Pay in Full or Pay in 3 on the payment screen, no need to contact us first. The first payment is taken then. The $20 booking fee is included in the first payment.

  • Wherever suits your player. Your backyard, a local park, your school's field, an indoor turf facility, wherever your player is most comfortable. You agree the spot with your coach on the first call.

  • It depends on your address: coaches are matched by ZIP code, not by city. When you book, your request goes to coaches whose travel area covers your address. Nothing is charged until a coach accepts and your first session date is set, and there's no card up front.

  • We don't offer ongoing pay-per-lesson billing. Packages keep coach availability locked in for your player. But you can absolutely book a single session as a trial run before committing to a 6- or 12-lesson package.

  • All major credit and debit cards. We don't accept cash for lesson payments. We don't take checks or payments arranged outside the platform: keeping payments on Dribbler is what keeps the refund policy, the background checks and the coach liability insurance meaningful.

  • Your coach will reschedule with you directly.

  • If you are not happy after your first lesson, we refund your whole package, including that first lesson. The $20 booking fee is not refunded.

  • Nothing is charged when you book, and there's no card up front. If a coach accepts your request, they call or text you to agree a day and time for your first session. Once that date is entered, you get an email with a link to sign a short waiver and pay for your package on one screen. Your package and the $20 booking fee are charged then.

  • Reply to any email from us, or use our contact form, and we'll add lessons to your package. You keep the same coach whenever they're available.

  • Visit our Join Our Team page and apply. You'll get a confirmation right away, and we'll email you once we've reviewed your application.

  • Cleats (or turf shoes for indoor), shin guards, water, and any soccer ball you have. Coaches bring balls and cones. Wear what your player normally wears for soccer practice.

  • Certifications aren't required. Before working with families, every coach has passed a background check, agreed to Dribbler's Safety & Conduct Standards, signed the coach agreement and added a profile photo. Each coach's profile shows their own experience.
