Your Questions, Answered
Everything you need to know about joining the Dribbler team.
How does scheduling work?
You have full control over your schedule. You can coordinate directly with clients to find times that work best for both of you. Whether you want to coach 2 hours a week or 20, it's up to you.
How do I get matched with clients?
We actively market to clients in your area looking for private soccer training. When a client's needs match your location and expertise, we connect you directly. The more complete your profile, and flexible your schedule, the easier it is for clients to match with you.
What age groups and skill levels will I train?
Dribbler works with players of all ages, though the majority are youth players (ages 5-18) ranging from beginners to advanced club players. You can specify in your profile which age groups you are most comfortable training.
Where do training sessions take place?
Sessions typically take place at public parks, community fields, or locations convenient to the client. You and the client will agree on a location prior to the session.
Do I need to provide my own equipment?
Yes. As an independent trainer, you are expected to bring the necessary gear for your session. This typically includes cones, extra soccer balls, and bibs. Specialized gear is up to your discretion.
How and when do I get paid?
Dribbler handles all billing securely. Payouts are processed via PayPal within 24-48 hours for completed sessions. You never have to worry about asking a parent for cash or checks.
Do I need a coaching license to apply?
While coaching licenses (USSF, United Soccer Coaches, etc.) are highly valued, they are not strictly mandatory if you have significant playing experience (Collegiate or Professional level). We review every profile holistically.
Is a background check required?
Yes. Player safety is our top priority. All trainers are required to pass a criminal & abuse background check during the onboarding process before they can be matched with clients.
What happens if it rains?
Weather happens! Since you manage your own schedule, you can coordinate directly with the client to reschedule the session for a later date if field conditions are unsafe.
Can I coach part-time?
Absolutely! Most of our trainers coach part-time to supplement their income, while others use it as their primary focus. Dribbler is designed to be flexible around your life.
Will I receive a 1099 tax form?
Yes. As an independent contractor, if you earn over the IRS threshold in a calendar year through Dribbler, you will receive a 1099 form for tax purposes.
